We’re pleased to welcome Theresa to the ECTT team.

A proud East Coast local, Theresa has a deep connection to the region and its landscapes, and spends much of her time hiking, freediving and exploring the coastline that makes this place so special.

Theresa brings more than 15 years’ experience in marketing and communications, including a decade specialising in tourism and destination management. Her background includes senior roles with Tourism Tasmania and the Cradle Coast Authority, and she most recently served as a Director on the ECTT Board, bringing valuable insight into the organisation and the region.

In her role with ECTT, Theresa will support our members by strengthening marketing capability, helping tell the East Coast story, and showcasing the people, businesses and experiences that define our region.

We’re delighted to have Theresa join the team and look forward to the experience and local knowledge she brings.

• East Coast Tasmania Shines – a vibrant, community-focused group celebrating everything happening across the East Coast. This is your space to self-promote your business, share updates, introduce your team, tell your story, celebrate wins of the week, and highlight what’s new or noteworthy. This group supports industry discussion, sharing of good news stories, insights and expertise, and ECTT updates. While not a consumer-facing or advertising platform, it plays an important role in collaboration and sector-wide communication.

New Seafood Labelling Standards

Coming 1 July 2026

Hospitality businesses that serve seafood will need to prepare for new country-of-origin labelling requirements coming into effect from 1 July 2026.

Under the new standard, seafood dishes sold for immediate consumption must clearly state whether the seafood is Australian, imported, or a mix of both. The standard has been made under Australian Consumer Law and applies to hospitality businesses such as restaurants, cafés, pubs, clubs, food trucks and other takeaway outlets.

ECTT encourages operators to familiarise themselves with the new requirements early to allow time for menu updates and staff training.

Further information on country-of-origin seafood labelling in hospitality settings is available on the Australian Government website Australian Government website..

The Tasmanian tourism industry acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a tourism industry that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully. We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
