2026 Winter Industry Famil Program

As part of this year's ECTT Winter Industry Famil Program, we were proud to partner with four outstanding East Coast tourism businesses to deliver a series of regional experiences.

It was fantastic to see such strong attendance across all four famil experiences, with representatives from accommodation providers, visitor services, tour operators and tourism businesses coming together to connect, learn and experience the best of the East Coast in winter.

Our first famil took us to Devils Corner for their Moulting Lagoon and Firelight Experience. Guests enjoyed a journey through the vineyard to Moulting Lagoon, where freshly shucked oysters and premium wines were served in one of Tasmania's most spectacular landscapes. Along the way, we were lucky enough to spot the resident black swans gliding across the lagoon, while sheep and wallabies grazed peacefully among the vines, a uniquely Tasmanian scene that left a lasting impression on everyone. The experience concluded by sharing seasonal local produce, exceptional wines, perfectly capturing the warmth and atmosphere of the Off Season.

Spring Bay Distillery welcomed the group into their beautiful beachfront tasting room for the Premium Red Velvet Whisky Experience. Guests settled into the signature red velvet lounge to sample a curated selection of award-winning single malt whiskies from the distillery's library collection. The relaxed setting, paired with insights into the craftsmanship behind each whisky, highlighted why this experience has become such a popular winter offering on the East Coast.

As the sun set, East Coast Natureworld hosted the unforgettable Devils in the Dark Experience. Watching Tasmanian devils feed after dark from the purpose-built viewing hide was a powerful reminder of the incredible wildlife experiences available in our region. The evening was made even more memorable with local wine and cheese served while learning about the important conservation work being undertaken by the team. It truly felt like stepping behind the scenes of a wildlife documentary.

The final famil took guests to Tasman Sea Salt, where guests were among the first to experience the brand new Salt Cellar. This exciting new space offers immersive experiences including guided salt tastings and the unique Salt Sommelier experience, allowing visitors to discover just how much flavour and texture can vary between different salts. Guests also enjoyed warming mulled cider while watching the fascinating process of transforming pristine East Coast seawater into delicate sea salt flakes, all set against sweeping views across the Freycinet Peninsula.

Each of these experiences are a part of the Off Season Campaign, and are currently bookable via the link - Off Season Offers

A huge thank you to Devils Corner, Spring Bay Distillery, East Coast Natureworld and Tasman Sea Salt for generously hosting our industry and showcasing the quality and diversity of experiences available across the East Coast during winter.

We also thank everyone who attended. Building strong local knowledge within our tourism community helps ensure every visitor receives genuine recommendations and discovers even more reasons to explore Tasmania's East Coast throughout the Off Season.

ECTT Social Media Toolkit

Social media toolkit
Welcome to the ECTT Social Media Toolkit!

A fortnightly Facebook series where we share practical, no-jargon social media tips to help East Coast Tasmania tourism operators grow their online presence, on our Industry Facebook Page.

We're kicking off with the big picture, because before we get into tactics, it helps to understand what's actually changed (and change is a constant currently in the world of social media marketing).
The social media playbook from even two years ago no longer works the same way. Algorithms across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok have all shifted significantly in 2026. The operators who understand the new rules are getting real results from organic content, even with small followings.

Check out all the details here.

The series continues with some super helpful tips;
Post 02: The Facebook resharing problem
Post 03: The Instagram reposting problem
Post 04: Collaboration posts, what they are and how to use them
Post 05: Instagram in 2026, what actually drives reach

The Tasmanian tourism industry acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a tourism industry that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully. We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
