As we prepare for the summer visitation period, St Helens' local businesses and community members are invited to a practical session focused on strengthening the customer experience and service delivery. Together, we’ll explore simple ways to create outstanding visitor experiences that reflect and reinforce the East Coast Tasmania brand.
Delivered by Hospitality Tasmania in partnership with East Coast Tasmania Tourism, the session is an opportunity to gain practical tips, share ideas, build connections and explore opportunities for collaboration and cross-promotion ahead of the busy summer season.
Join East Coast Tasmania Tourism (ECTT) & The Tourism Industry Council Tasmania (TICT) for an afternoon of industry connection, learning and celebration.
We'll recognise the recipient of our Industry Recognition Award – Positive Impact, celebrating a tourism business or individual making a meaningful contribution to the East Coast through environmental stewardship, community wellbeing, sustainable business practices and creating lasting positive outcomes for our region.
The event will also feature the launch of the TICT EV Ready Tasmania program, providing practical guidance to help tourism businesses prepare for the growing number of electric vehicle travellers. You'll also hear the latest updates from the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania on its Industry Toolkit, including valuable resources and support available to tourism operators.
Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) has shared a project update on the Freycinet Visitor Gateway Project, which outlines proposed improvements to visitor facilities and access within Freycinet National Park. The planned development includes a new visitor gateway and upgrades to visitor infrastructure, with the project also considering traffic management and improved visitor experiences.
Tourism operators and community members are encouraged to visit the PWS project website for further information, including the latest project update, proposed works and project timeline as planning progresses.

Insurance can be a challenging area for tourism operators, particularly when it comes to understanding what insurers are looking for and how to manage risks. Tourism Indusrty Council Tasmania (TICT) has developed a new Insurance Toolkit to provide practical guidance for businesses navigating these issues.
The toolkit covers ways operators can better understand their insurance needs, identify and manage potential risks, and take steps that may help improve their insurability. It’s a useful resource to have on hand when reviewing your current cover or preparing for your next conversation with an insurer.

The Tasmanian tourism industry acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita / Tasmania. We honour 40,000 years of uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement. As a tourism industry that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully. We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands. We respectfully ask that tourism be a part of that future.
